Nigeria’s Super Eagles produced a commanding performance to beat Mozambique 4‑0 in the Round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, (AFCON) booking their place in the quarter‑finals with authority.
The three time African champions were dominant from start to finish in Fès, cruising into the last eight with one of the tournament’s most convincing victories
Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute and was influential throughout, followed by Victor Osimhen’s, netted twice in the 25th and 47th minutes. Akor Adams sealed the victory and final win with a ruthless strike in the 75th minute.
Nigeria now awaits the winner of the Algeria vs DR Congo Round of 16 tie in the quarter‑finals.
The match between Nigeria and Mozambique was a statement performance from the Super Eagles, who were widely tipped as favourites and delivered on that promise with flair and efficiency.
